KEITH BROWN BUILDING MATERIALS TAKES ON GREEN LUMBER CERTIFICATION


Salem , Oregon April 5, 2005 - Through maintaining rigid standards, Keith Brown Building Materials has been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council Chain-of-Custody program.  The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a globally recognized standard for forest conservation whose lumber meets stringent environmental, social and economic provisions.  By demonstrating their commitment in maintaining the renewable resources of forests and their environments, Keith Brown Building Materials has gained recognition by FSC and can now offer Chain-of-Custody certified or “Green” building products to end users.  


“We are concerned about our forests and want to educate and offer all customers environment friendly options of FSC certified lumber products,” says Phil Cox, Keith Brown’s Vice President of Operations.  Effective March 1, 2005, Keith Brown Building Materials is qualified to purchase and sell building materials from FSC forests.  For more information on FSC and their programs, please visit www.fscus.org.
